Directive to Religious Workers Regarding Labour (Work) Permit Fees

This directive serves to inform all religious workers that under the Labour (Work) Permit Regulations, a prescribed fee of 20,000 Vatu is required to be paid to the Government of Vanuatu in addition to Immigration visa prescribed fees of 10, 000 Vatu.

Findings have revealed that since the launching of the MIDAS system in September 2024 until the present date, number of religious workers only pay the immigration prescribed fees but not the labour prescribed fees.

Therefore, to correct this anomaly we are kindly advising all religious workers who have not paid their prescribed fees under the Labour regulations to come forward and settle their outstanding payments to the Government of Vanuatu. You have until 30th of September 2025 to settle the unpaid work permit fee of V120,000 being for religious worker.

Effective from the date of this directive onward, all new religious workers (new or renewal) are hereby advised to pay the amount of 20,000 Vatu, being the prescribed fee under the Labour (Work) Permit Regulations. Your cooperation in ensuring compliance with this directive is highly appreciated.

I thank you for your understanding and I am looking forward for your good cooperation. Should you have any query on this directive, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
